Do you provide either the boxes or a packing service?

We are able to provide you with a qualified packing service by trained professionals, our staff will carefully pack your fragile items and all personal effects into double ply export grade cartons which have been designed for the rigors of an international move and our fit for purpose.

How long will it take to arrive?

Generally, with an international shipping service to Canada approximately 6/10 weeks based on a groupage / shared service depending on Final destination. Full exclusive use containers approx. 3/6 weeks depending on port of entry and destination. By liaising with your Move Manager, it may be possible to reduce or increase these delivery times so that they fit in with your travel arrangements.

What if I don’t know when I am moving?

As specialist box shippers we are constantly able to fit clients in a short notice for collection dates, normally we work on a fortnight notice is best, however we can accommodate clients on 24 hours’ notice if time is of the essence.

What if I require storage prior to shipping of my boxes?

Do I need a delivery address before it arrives?

Upon arrival in Canada either as an immigrant or returning citizen you must report to Canadian Immigration that there are goods to follow to obtain the B54E declaration form, I.e. Shipments must be declared to Customs at the port of entry (POE) (airport/U.S-Canada border). Customs will then issue documents needed for Customs clearance:

 BSF715 casual goods accounting document.
The owner of the goods must present a list of items to be imported. It is recommended that a copy of the packing list / inventory be hand carried for presentation to Customs. Customs may request a value on the shipment (returning citizens).
Customs Clearance Procedure once consignment has arrived at port, is that you the client (owner of the shipment) are required to report in person to custom house to clear the shipment (normally a representative from our office in Canada will advise beforehand and meet you at the customs office). Shipments destined for areas/cities outside the main port of entry cities will be moved under bond to the closest bonded facility to the consignee’s delivery address so that you the client can clear at a local customs office.
Please note as the client you must have residence status in Canada in order for the shipment to clear.

Insurance

Insurance is an important consideration in any relocation. If you are packing the boxes yourself, we would be able to offer you a total loss policy, if we are professional packing your consignment for you, then we can provide an all risks marine transit insurance policy. A transit
proposal form will be provided with all our quotation extended. We advise you to read the information carefully; if there any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to ask.

Moving day has arrived what happens next?

Prior to your moving day, our operations team will confirm the date and approximate time scale. Once crew has arrived at your collection address, if we are packing our crew will arrive with all the materials required for them to complete a professional packing service, if we are collecting pre owner packed boxes our crew will we will prepare the box shipment for transit, we will check, that they confirm to international moving standards and are in good condition for the journey, if not we may suggest that we repack for you at an additional costs. We will also number and list on a specialised inventory form each individual item and give you a copy for your records, we will then load our vehicle and return to our depot to consolidate your shipment for its departure to Canada.

When my Box shipping has arrived in Canada what happens next?

Will there be additional charges to pay?

Quotation extended will be based on a door-to-door service and will included terminals and custom clearance formalities, what is not included in our quotations are customs inspection fees, any customs duty or taxes on new goods are goods that do not meet the unaccompanied effects ruling.

Payments and Deposits?

On booking we will take a 15% deposit to secure your nominated collection date, once your shipment has been collected we will provide you with a final balance invoice which will be In accordance with our trading terms we will respectfully request that we receive payment of the invoice within 72 hours of it being issued.
