What are the costs of shipping Furniture to Australia from the UK?

Do you provide export wrapping service?
We are able to provide you with a qualified export wrapping service by trained professionals, our staff will carefully export wrap the furniture with a bubble blanket which is designed specifically for the protection of all types of furniture during transit and storage. Softline bubble blanket offers not only the versatility of bubble on a roll abut provides greater flexibility and reduces waste compared with other traditional forms of furniture protection. With the tissue being slightly absorbent it can be not only used for furniture but has many other uses and be specifically used for packing and wrapping ceramics and leather and all types of wood furniture.
How long will it take to arrive?
Generally, with an international shipping service to Australia from the UK approximately 12 weeks based on a groupage / shared service depending on Final destination. Exclusive use container option, door to door 9 weeks. By liaising with your Move Manager, it may be possible to reduce or increase these transit times so that they fit in with your travel arrangements.
How long is the removal quote valid for?
Our quotation is valid for 28 days; this is due to the nature and vagrancies of international shipping which can be affected by currency fluctuations and increase in ocean and air freight costs
Is any VAT applicable on removal services?
For international removals vat is not applicable for overseas move, VAT is only applicable for EU to EU relocations or domestic removal services I.e. storage, or ancillary services like handyman or external liftings or hire of specialised equipment
What if I require storage prior to shipping of my furniture?
At Relo UK we have a fully customs boned warehouse, which is alarmed and fitted with CTV cameras for added security, whether it is for a short period whilst in transit, or for a longer term, we are able to offer you with a competitive storage costs, prior to your shipping service to Australia
Do you offer groupage (shared) container services for smaller consignments?
Groupage (Shared) service is the economically recognised method of shipping for smaller volume moves as you are saving money by sharing costs. Your household effects are loaded into a shared container with other ReloUK consignments bound for the same geographical destination as soon as sufficient volumes are available; this way you only pay for the container space utilised. As one of the largest groupage container operators in the UK we are able to offer frequent sailing dates on all major routes to Australian capital cities.
Can you provide Insurance Cover?
Whilst great care is taken during the removal of your furniture, we will do everything possible to ensure your possessions arrive safely, Insurance is a way of managing risks. When you buy insurance, you transfer the cost of a potential loss to the insurance company.
A transit proposal form will be provided with all our quotation extended. We advise you to read the information carefully; if there any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to ask.
Do I need a delivery address before it arrives?
All we require prior to shipping is a contact address and contact details. Once your furniture has arrived in Australia and has been through the customs clearance and the quarantine formalities it is at this point, we will require a delivery address, however if you are not in a position to provide we can arrange storage on your behalf
When my Furniture shipping has arrived in Australia from the UK what happens next?
We will contact you before your shipment arrives at the port in Australia, once it has arrived, we will arrange for your consignment to be customs cleared by Australian Customs and Border Protection Services. To assist us with your clearance you will be required to complete an unaccompanied effects statement which is an Australian customs form B534, this can be completed in the UK before your departure or in Australia. If your shipment arrives into Australia before you do, you can nominate a member of your family or a friend in Australia to act on your behalf, but in this scenario you must complete the Australian customs from B534 yourself before you depart the UK. You will also be required to present the following information to Australian Customs. Once customs are quarantine formalities have been completed, we will require delivery address
Will there be additional charges to pay?
Quotation extend will be based on a door to door service and will included terminals and custom clearance formalities, what is not included in our quotations are customs inspection fees, any customs duty or taxes on new goods are goods that do not meet the unaccompanied effects ruling and the (AQIS) Australian Quarantine inspections which are mandatory in Australia. (AQIS) Australian Quarantine inspection fees will not been included in any quotations extended and are payable direct to our colleagues in Australia.
Payments and Deposits?
On booking of your shipping to Australia from the UK we will take a 15% deposit to secure your nominated collection date, Once your shipment has been collected we will provide you with a final balance invoice which is In accordance with our trading terms we will respectfully request that we receive payment of the invoice within 72 hours of it being issued.
